We're supposed to call Takeru 'tono', or whatever, but I never did. [shrugs right back] Maybe, like, twice or three times in the whole time I've known him. It always seemed stupid to me.

For him, it's kind of a nickname, but he is pretty awesome. I was really skeptical about him at first since he was so set on us actually knowing each other...

Ha. [grinning] Takeru was the total opposite--he was all business from day one. We wore him down, though.

[he tilts his head a little] It's a real thing for him--being called 'tono', I mean. But I was like you--I wasn't about to waltz up and start bowing and scraping to some asshole just because of whose son we thought he was. ...and by the time he'd earned my respect, it didn't seem like a big deal.
